It all started with a friendship… and a frustration
We are Alex and Solt, two thirty-somethings who met on the benches of university. After our studies, we naturally teamed up to launch into e-commerce, starting with interior decoration. But very quickly, one product caught all our attention: the sofa.
Why? Because we realised just how hard it was to find one that ticked every box.
The realisation that changed everything
When looking for the perfect sofa — for ourselves, our loved ones — we always ran into the same problem: it was impossible to find the right balance between design and comfort.
Either it was beautiful, but torture for the back. Or it was comfortable, but visually… let us just say it did not make you want to invite people over.
And the worst part? Even when we thought we had found the right compromise, the quality was not there. A sofa that sags after a few months, fabrics that pill, a frame that creaks… In short, disappointment often lurked at the end of the road.
We told ourselves there had to be a better way.
In search of artisan know-how
In 2022, we packed our backpacks and headed to manufacturing factories in Europe. Our mission? To find real craftsmen — experts capable of making solid, comfortable and well-designed sofas.
We visited dozens of workshops, tested dozens of models, asked a thousand questions. We were looking for a serious partner with whom we could build something long-term and develop our own brand.
And we found it.
Kings Canapé was born
With this European artisan know-how in hand and our e-commerce experience, we launched Kings Canapé. Our promise? Customisable sofas that combine design, comfort and durability.
No limited catalogue. No compromises. You choose the colour, the material, the configuration, the finishes… And you receive a sofa built to last, not to sag after six months.
A small team, a big commitment
From the start, we made the choice to stay a human-sized team. Why? Because we had noticed that in the sofa market, customer service is often the great forgotten one.
Salespeople under pressure, customers left without answers after purchase, catastrophic deliveries… We wanted to do the opposite.
At Kings Canapé, you deal with people who know the product, who take the time to listen, and who are there to support you from the first click right through to installation in your living room.
Italian design, our inspiration
Every 3 to 4 months or so, we release a new collection. Our inspiration? Italian design.
Clean lines, elegant shapes, noble materials… But always with our DNA: modern and timeless collections that do not go out of fashion after one season.
Because a sofa is not an impulse purchase. It is an investment for your everyday life, for years to come.
Our showroom in Alsace
Alongside our website, we have opened a small showroom in Bischwiller, in Alsace. A cosy place where you can come and feel the materials, test the comfort, visualise the configurations… and chat with us in peace.
No pressure, no rehearsed sales pitch. Just honest conversations, to help you make the right choice.
